I was asked to show how an object interacting with grass can be simulated using HairMesh Sim. Here is something I quickly prepared in a few minutes. I can include the .max file in Hair Farm Examples Files, if you'd like to see it.

I love it I always wanted to do that, but the project I could use it in hasn't come in yet.
Stick the file in examples as I'm sure it will come in handy!!
On another note is there a way to instance geometry I'm thinking fethers and plants?

Thanks
Dave.

Check out the HairTo Instances modifier. It is a very powerful instancing tool. It should be ideal for feathers, among other things.

Thanks! This is something I prepared in a few minutes from scratch. You can do much better.

You can now download the .max file here.
